Cooking Class

At Ujanal Masewal, guests take part in a hands-on cooking experience guided by local Maya women. Using traditional methods and fresh local ingredients, visitors learn how to prepare authentic Yucatec Maya dishes while discovering ancestral cooking techniques, cultural traditions, and the importance of food in Maya family life. The experience concludes with enjoying the freshly prepared meal together in a warm and welcoming community setting.

Pottery Making

This interactive pottery session introduces guests to the ancient art of Maya ceramics at the San Antonio Women’s Cooperative. Participants learn traditional hand-building techniques used to create both functional and ceremonial pottery, guided by skilled local artisans. The experience highlights the historical importance of pottery in Maya culture while supporting women-led community entrepreneurship.

Oxmul Coffee Tour

The tour continues at Oshmul Coffee, a local Maya-owned coffee farm where guests learn about sustainable coffee cultivation from seed to cup. Visitors walk through the plantation, observe traditional processing methods, and enjoy freshly brewed coffee while learning how coffee farming supports local livelihoods and preserves cultural and environmental traditions.
